Eight parties have submitted, before the expiration of the deadline, non-binding bids to buy just over a third of Slovenia's largest food retailer, Mercator, announced Uros Marter from company Arkas which is the mediator in the sale. He then added that he would not disclose the identity of the bidders in this stage. In the next stage of the sale the banks will study the received bids and select several buyers which will then be able to perform due diligence of the company Mercator, added Marter.

It is worth mentioning that larger retail chains like the Wal-Mart, Tesco, Carrefour, have all shown interest for Mercator.
