One more Golden Fox event was successfully accomplished, actually the 46th already and this time with a perfect triumph of the Austrian skier Kathrin Zettel.
Home favourite Tina Maze took care of the joy of some 10.000 fans. The skier from Črna, who was ninth after the first run and showed one of her best slalom performances in the second run, improved her placement to the second rank, which is the best slalom result in her carreer.
"I'm unbelievably happy because of my today's success. After the worse Saturday's GS performance it was difficult for me, but perhaps that's why I managed to relax today. I came to the race with positive thoughts today and that paid out in the end. Right before the finish I heard the fans scrreaming and that gave me additional energy. When I saw, that I had taken the lead, I knew that would be an excellent result. I managed to break the ice after the bad results from the recent races," said Tina.
The third place went to the German, Maria Riesch, who took the lead in the World Cup overall with that result.
Next to Tina Maze, another Slovenian, Maruša Ferk, qualified and was 16th in the end.
