Around Christmas time the underground of Postojna becomes alive. A very original idea, which made Postojna Nativity Scenes a well-known sight throughout Europe. Nature made remarkable scenery in the cave and 2000 years old scenes from Christmas birth emerge there. They look remarkable among red, white and grey stalactites and amid them silently flows the river Reka. Visits are part of regular visits of the cave, Nativity Scenes are presented by young scholars from primary and high school, joined by choirs from Slovenia, singing the most famous Christmas carols.

This year’s Christmas Crib has a new look. Choirs and groups of singers will help create a pleasant festive atmosphere in the mysterious underworld of Postojna Cave. Stories over the birth Christi were established in such a way, that you will be able to visit them during the cave visit.

Outside Postojna Cave wide range of various events will be waiting for you, with a festive menu at the Jamska Restavracija and seasonal gifts in the souvenir shops.
