There, where the Gulf of Triest as an organic part of the Adriatic Sea reaches at its most to the heart of Europe, lies the Slovenian Coast and cities such as Portoroz and Piran.

The Slovenian Coast borders to the two neighbouring countries: over the sea and on the eastern edge with Italy, on south with Croatia.

In accordance with identification method applied to the big European cities, it could be said that Portorož lies somewhere between Venice and Vienna in the vicinity of Triest.

The atmosphere in Portorož and Piran has warmed up and so has the sea with its 26 degrees. Numerous improvements, like the recently renovated Portorož`s beach, the almost finished walking path, that leads from camp Lucija to the restaurant Ribič, and two recently renovated hotels, Grand hotel Metropol and Talaso Strunjan, are already waiting for you.

Various events, which will enliven hot summer days, are as well now scheduled. You could join for example one of the Casino Portorož`s poker tournaments with rich money prizes or any other entertaining event.

Between 19th and 25th July you could admire some of the best women tennis players in the world at the WTA Banka Koper Slovenia Open tournament. The tournament will be attended for example by the number 4 player Jelena Jankovič and the winner of the Roland Garros tournament, Francesca Schiavone.

Fridays in July and August will be traditionally dedicated to classical music with Piran Music Nights festival, while on 14th August the Portorož Summer Night will take place. In August an exhibition of Chinese terra-cotta painted warriors by a famous Italian painter and sculptor, Sandra Chie, will be inaugurate in Monfort warehouse in Portorož as well.
