Each year, the Ljubljana Jazz Festival features some of the world's biggest names in jazz, attracting music lovers from home and abroad.

Some groups will appear in Ljubljana for the first time, while others are returning to the city which has grown on them. Some of the most resounding names are: The Pat Metheny Group (USA), Chucho Valdés & Afro-Cuban Messengers (Cuba), Kip Hanrahan BAnd "Beautiful Scars" (USA) and Joe Lovano & Big Band RTV Slovenia, conductor: Michael Abene (USA, Slovenia) and Patricia Barber (USA).

Since 1960, when it was founded as a festival presenting classical jazz bands from former Yugoslavia, the Ljubljana Jazz Festival has kept pace with international developments in the genre. Today it provides a connoisseur's choice of music and offers an exciting insight into creativity in contemporary jazz.
