Description:

A Chinese cargo ship which grounded on Thursday morning about 200 metres off the Slovenian coast near the seaside resort of Debeli Rtic was successfully towed back into deep waters in an operation mounted by a Slovenian team in the evening.

 

Ship is without damage and it is anchored in front of port Koper for now.There has been no oil spills or pollution of the sea. Afer the weather cleras the ship will be moved into port.

 

The ship sank five meters deep in the muddy sea bottom and was pulled out by five tugs. The reason of an accident was inappropriate speed (5 knots) despite the low visibility. "We told the captain that they are aproaching shallow sea, but he disregard our warning", said Mritime Administration.

 

Ship will leave the port once it is clear that it is safe for sailing and after the costs of dispute will be settled.
