Publisher Zalozba Sanje reissued on Thursday a book by late climber Tomaz Humar, who would have turned 41 today had he survived an ascent to the Langtang Lirung peak (7,227 m) in Nepal last November.

The upgraded monograph by Humar entitled "Ni nemogocih poti" (No Impossible Ways) contains a review of Humar's key achievements since 2002 and texts by two acclaimed climbers and Humar's friends, Carlos Carsolio and Reinhold Messner.

"Humar is one of the greatest climbers in the world and his ascent to the southern face of the Langtang Lirung peak is in my opinion the boldest venture in the history of Himalaya climbing," Messner says on the book's cover.

The publisher's director Rok Zavrtanik pointed to the book's title, saying that some might argue it to be inappropriate, but noted that Humar, who knew life very well, in fact proved them wrong.

"The ways that count are those where our heart leads us. Mighty ways. And we have neither the right nor the strength to say that Tomaz's ways ended. Tomaz left us a wonderful message: ways are endless."

Humar's friend Zoran Hajtnik described the book as a genuine story about Humar's life and principles marked by his passion for climbing, while editor Ana Dusa said his relatives, friends and fellow climbers provided the texts for the upgraded version.

Among those who attended today's book launch was also Former Slovenian President Milan Kucan.

The book, which was printed in 4,000 copies, is also available for sale at www.humar.com.

Humar was a first-class mountaineer of world renown distinguished for some of the most outstanding achievements in world mountaineering.

He was found dead on 14 November, after he got stuck in the southern face of the Langtang Lirung peak with a broken leg on 9 November.
