Opening a bank acount as a foreigner in Slovenia is very easy. Ofcourse you will have to know what type of account you are looking for as there are many: transaction account, savings account, special account, company account, fixed-term deposit account.
If you are looking to open an account for basic transactions, paying bills and receiving paycheques you are most probably looking for a transaction account. Usualy there is no interests or fees payableon on this account.
The type of account differs whether you are a resident or non-resident in Slovenia. Residents are those who work in Slovenia for more than 6 months and have according work permits. Non-residents are persons who don't comply to the residents standards. Non-resident accounts are limited to sending and accepting money both in the country and internationaly.
The easiest way to open a bank account is go to the branch office of the bank you've chosen. All you need is a photo ID and you can fill out all the forms in the bank.
