Mariborsko Pohorje ski resort is very popular, due to it's setting very near Slovenia's second biggest city, Maribor. This resort is very popular in the winter as well as in the summer. A few new hotels with welness centers were built in the recent years.

The ski center offers more than 40 kilometers of slopes suitable for beginner as well as advanced skiers. Slopes are connected with 5 chairlifts 16 ski lifts and a gondola. There are also more than 27 kilometers of cross-country ski runs.

Vicinity of Maribor gives visitors opportunity for many activities such as shopping, concerts, going out etc.  

A traditional annual world championship race for women called »Zlata Lisica« is held in Mariborsko Pohorje in January every year.
