At Ljubljana Zoo you can observe native animals as well as animals from all over the world in the natural habitat of the regional park Tivoli - Rožnik - Šišenski hrib. Here they organise a multitude of different "Adventures with animals", where you get the chance to pet some of them, while observing others during our guided and very informative tours. Don't miss feeding the sea lion, elephant, bear and other animals, which are being fed at regular hours. You can grab a bite to eat and recharge your batteries at the zoo café; then you will be ready to visit the upper part of the zoo, where the native animals are being kept. Purchase a yearly ticket and you can watch the happenings at the zoo every day.It takes approximately 3 hours to see the entire zoo.
In autumn and in winter you get a better chance to observe the animals as there a fewer visitors.
Plan your visit according to the feeding and adventures schedules so that you can observe the animals during active times.
There are sandy paths in the zoo; parts of the zoo are located on a hill. You will need appropriate footwear as the terrain can be challenging in places.
Large groups should select a leader to gather the money for admissions beforehand and to buy the tickets to avoid long delays in line.
There is an ATM machine next to the ticket office. We also accept credit cards.
In case of rain you can visit the animals that are kept inside.
Some animals from the tropics stay inside heated rooms in winter; however, they are visible to the visitors.

- January, February, November, December - open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- March, October - open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April, September - open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- May, June, July, August open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
